In this second part of the article, let’ take a look at what is happening right now globally in regard to Israel and the Jews and how it lines up with the Word.
It is abundantly evident that Israel and the Jews in general are going through the worst times since the Nazi era of not too distant memory. In a veritable escalation of rhetorical accusations alimented through and out of the media, Israel and the Jewish people, in whatever country they reside are facing the sad fact that the music has changed and the new tunes being played spell ominous times ahead for them.
In our enlightened Europe, we have stopped counting the attacks against single people, synagogues, cemeteries, stores etc.. The writing is literally on the wall: hate messages, swastikas, jewish tombs defaced and overturned, fire bombings to Jewish businesses, boycotts of Jewish goods and stores, financial divestment in Israel bonds and companies and it is all happening right before our eyes.
France’s politicians and community leaders have criticised the “intolerable” violence against Paris’ Jewish community, after a pro-Palestinian rally led to the vandalizing and looting of Jewish businesses and the burning of cars.
It is the third time in a week where pro-Palestinian activists have clashed with the city’s Jewish residents. On Sunday, locals reported chats of “Gas the Jews” and “Kill the Jews”, as rioters attacked businesses in the Sarcelles district, known as “little Jerusalem”.

Since the beginning of the current war between Israel and Hamas, eight synagogues in France have been attacked. In Turkey, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has asked for Jews to apologize for the actions of the Jewish state. In Germany, a prominent Muslim imam gave a sermon asking Allah to kill all of the “Zionist Jews.”
The atmosphere in Europe since the beginning of the war has been so toxic that the foreign ministers of France, Italy, and Germany on Tuesday issued a rare joint statement condemning anti-Semitism at pro-Palestinian demonstrations.

This, of course, is but a brief sample of what is happening in the world. In the USA, which has always been a safe haven for the Jewish people these kind of attacks are now happening with frightening regularity.
Anti-Semitism on U.S. college campuses is growing at an alarming rate. It has escalated to the point that Jewish students on campuses have been physically attacked or threatened for peacefully demonstrating their support of Israel. Events demonizing Jews and even glorifying the murderers of Jews, in the guise of anti-Israel rhetoric, are tolerated by campus administrators despite the hostile environment such events create for Jewish students who are open about their beliefs in support of the Jewish state.

Anti-Semitic graffiti has appeared on synagogues and the property of Jewish families in a worrying increase in hate attacks amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Swastikas and the word ‘Hamas’ were found spray-painted on the entrance of the Torah V’Emunah Congregation synagogue in Miami, Florida today.
On Saturday, a family in Miami Beach found their two cars with the words ‘Jew’ and ‘Hamas’ smeared in cream cheese and pelted with eggs.

Any Google search on this subject will offer ample evidence of the turning tide that is making Israel and consequently the Jews, the most hated group of people on earth. There are several reasons we can list to account for the changed mood.
First of all, the incredible riches that petroleum sales have transferred to the oil-producing countries of the Middle East. In time, this river of money has found its way into the rest of the world, from financial and real estate investments, to the more mundane activities like buying a soccer team, a stadium or a department store.(Arab Investment Overseas: A Vast Empire)
Second, and equally important, the massive emigration from Arab and Moslem countries towards the West (Europe, USA, Canada, Australia) of the last decades. This has destabilized the status quo of several countries which have had to scramble in the face of the various problems posed by the new immigrants from the “chador”, “burca”, “hijab” and “niqab” wearing women, to the building of mosques and minarets, and in some instances in their requests to apply sharia (their legal code) within their own group, apart from the laws of the country which gives them hospitality.
There are obviously other factors, like for example, the various hate groups on the internet with their incessant flow of venom and terrorist propaganda, or the strange allure which ties Moslems in general both to the extreme left and extreme right parties in their adopted countries (politic does indeed make strange bedfellows), but basically the first two reasons are the fundamentals upon which rests the present world situation. One must not be a rocket scientist to understand that money rules.
So Israel has become a bothersome reality for many to deal with, even with former friends and admirers despite its brilliant economy, its creativeness and its overall military and societal strength. What the future holds for Israel and its people is already written and it is unchangeable but there is trouble ahead, much much trouble. The Word speaks of a time of untold sorrow, known as “Jacob’s trouble ” or “Jacob’s distress” (Jeremiah 30:7).
What’s next? As it happens we have some very interesting prophecies which are coming up for their fulfillment, notably Isaiah 17:1, Psalm 83, and Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39. A sequence of events will be started which will bring the world as we know it to unprecedented violence and evil that only the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ will stop, otherwise the whole population of earth including Israel, would perish.
In short, the chain of events will evolve as follows:
Israel will destroy Damascus, probably after Hezbollah (the Lebanese Syrian inspired Army of God) inflicts upon Israel a heavy blow, with much loss of life. It is debatable if atomic bombs will be used, but the Word states clearly that the city will be utterly destroyed (Isaiah 17:1). There will be a world-wide uproar against Israel (Isaiah 17:4) followed by an attack led by Russia in coalition with Moslem countries whose purpose is to destroy Israel once and for all ( Ezek. 38, 39). Alas, this is the evil recurring-through-history dream will remain such, just a dream. To the contrary, the armies which will march against Israel will be utterly destroyed as well as two-thirds of their home countries.
Israel shall emerge at that point as the most important nation on earth, and a 7 year peace and security treaty shall then be signed between Israel and its defeated and humiliated enemies. But this is not the end. This will just carry us right into the Tribulation. But that is another story and I want to keep the subject on what will happen from here to the next two years. Yes, you have heard me correctly, all the above will manifest in the next two-year span. Actually a little less than two years (see the date of this posting as reference).
The world is certainly not aware or prepared for what is about to transpire from here on, but is the Church ready for this? Sadly , based on what I observe I see a Church disinterested in the Word of God, sleeping, and at home in this world. But there is a remnant who hears from the Holy Spirit and is preparing for the Blessed Hope of the Ages.
Let’s pray for the peace of Jerusalem, as we are instructed to do, because PEACE will certainly arrive but not before much unbearable heartbreak and untold sorrow.
